Calendar

Development partners who have ideas on how calendar functionality in Mobilt Bedriftsnett can be leveraged may have the opportunity to implement their ideas through API Calendar, an Application Programming Interface. As a Telenor development partner you can develop your own switchboard solutions or integrate telephony solutions into other business applications and offer them to your own customers.

Options offered by API Calendar

API Calendar is an add-on to Mobilt Bedriftsnett from Telenor. API Calendar updates information about individual users' availability and absences in the Mobilt Bedriftsnett directory from external systems. Examples of external systems include Outlook and Notes. The client application controls when absence information is updated. You can only handle absences in real time.

Enhance the value of your calendar solutions

Your own calendar solutions and applications can retrieve absence information from the Mobilt Bedriftsnett directory.
On the other hand, all applications integrated with the company's Mobilt Bedriftsnett directory can use calendar information, e.g. the company's absence system (MS Exchange), applications such as the switchboard, CRM, Unified Communication, mobile clients and Mine Sider.
As a development partner you get to work closely with your customer by being responsible for this integration.

Service description

API Calendar transmits absence information about Mobilt Bedriftsnett users in the company every time their calendar changes. Calendar information can also be updated from Telenor's web pages 'Mine Sider'.

API Calendar give the users the option to manage their own call handling when they are absent either from Telenor’s ‘Mine Sider’ (My Pages) on web or from the configuration API which the partner has the opportunity to use. This applies whether it is to be integrated into the customer's own intranet site or whether the customer is using a solution from a partner where you offer a user interface.

When a user's status is being updated, for example in the event of an absence, the client application sends details about the telephone number, reason for absence and length of absence to the Telenor Server Gateway (TSG). TSG updates this information in the relevant network nodes. You can differentiate between several absence types so that telephone calls can be handled in different ways according to the type of absence which is involved (no action, forwarding to the switchboard, forwarding to the Mobilsvar voicemail service, Min Svartjeneste, etc.).
Examples of absence types include meetings, illness, holiday, out to lunch, etc. API Calendar allows you to set parameters specifying how incoming calls for the relevant user should be handled.

When an absence occurs, the information is sent in the form of an API Status Push "event" (DoNotDisturb), which specifies the reason for absence and the length.
If an external calendar application needs to be kept updated about users' future absences, a query must be sent regularly to TSG as users can add absences via other channels, e.g. Mine Sider and the Mobile client.

The application logs in with the machine user and relevant password. The customer must have the API Calendar service to use it or a partner product offering access to API Calendar.

How a development partner gains access to API Calendar

• The development partner contacts its contact person at Telenor or submits the contact form on the website
• A developer agreement are signed between the development partner and Telenor
• Technical product documentation and wsdl files are sent to the development partner
• The development partner gains access to the test environment
• Development partners are given support in the development phase
• Acceptance testing and approval of the development partners' solution
• Fault management processes for approved partner solutions are set up
• Follow-up on further development and new solutions

Requirements

Development partners intending to use API Calendar must have a developer agreement with Telenor. The end customer must have a Mobilt Bedriftsnett agreement with Telenor and the additional services in Mobilt Bedriftsnett which are required to use the development partner's solution. This will depend on what functionality the development partner adds to its solution being offered to customers.
